A Call to Dialogue Towards Design

Everybody is excited about the 25 January 2011 people’s revolution in Egypt. All sorts of proposals are coming forth regarding Midan al-Tahrir, the symbol and home of that revolution: what to do with it? How do we commemorate the revolution within the square?

“Al Tahrir Competition” is a tool for creating a dialogue that leads us to a collective decision on what to do with Al Tahrir Square. This competition is an initiative open to the greatest possible number of members of our society (individuals as well as organizations) to participate in a constructive dialogue. It is not to be just an open ended discussion, but rather it is designed to be a process that takes us to a consensus on clear proposals.
